Yurga is a modest merchant from Lower Sodden who meets Geralt on a bridge in the short story "Coś więcej" (English: "Something More"), the final tale in the Miecz przeznaczenia (English: The Sword of Destiny). He is married to Złotolitka and has two strong sons, Sulik and Nadbor.

Geralt first meets the merchant near the Ysgith marshes. Initially it is the witcher who saves the merchant from a predicament, but the tables are soon turned when our hero is injured, and Yurga and his servants, Profit and Vell, are the only ones around who can take him to a healer. The journey to a healer, and later to Yurga's home make up the framing story for a whole collection of tales told through Geralt's delirious flashbacks.

In Times of Contempt, Codringher refers to a peasant family in Riverdell being murdered by Rience in his search for Ciri.
