Vanhemar is a secondary character in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. He is the mage with the Nilfgaardian delegation at the Kaedweni camp. Ambassador Fitz-Oesterlen unwisely leaves him to "finish off" Geralt when the Nilfgaardians flee to Loc Muinne.
