Trophy Quests
From Witcher Wiki
Trophy quests are quests that appear in the journal only after slaying the beasts in question. There are ten of these quests in total, two for each Act in the game, except the Prologue and the Epilogue. With the exception of The Beast of the Sewers in Act II, none of these is required to finish the game.
The target-monster of a trophy quest is usually larger than any other of its kind, and they are also set apart by having their own name.
Periodically there are rewards beyond the money and the experience. For example, after the third trophy head has been handed in, Vincent (or the Royal huntsman, depending on when the trophy is handed in and to whom) gives Geralt a Svarog temporary rune. There is also a reward after the fifth head has been redeemed: a Perun temporary rune. Finally there is the ultimate reward after handing in all ten trophies, the choice of one of two splendid swords: the Moon Blade, a silver sword, or G'valchir, a steel sword.
Trophy heads can be redeemed at any point after they have been acquired. However, since you can only carry one at a time, turning them in as you get them is more efficient. Additionally, trophy heads cannot be stored at Inns.

Act II
Vincent Meis will tell you about the trophy quests in this chapter, and pay for the heads. You do not have to hand in the trophies you acquire in any given Act during that same Act. Vincent is at his post just outside the Dungeon in near the Gate to the Trade Quarter, on the Temple Quarter side, during the day.
