Topin was the village alderman in Klucz. He was married, and had two flaxen haired daughters. Nothing is said of his appearance in the short story Droga, z której się nie wraca (included in the Coś się kończy, coś się zaczyna (Something Ends, Something Begins collection), but in the graphic novel Droga bez powrotu he is portrayed as being a middle-aged man with brown balding hair and a beard. He was garbed in the traditional wear of the peasantry, including a flat cap, and was adorned with beaded headwear and bracelets.

He appears, and the graphic novel Droga bez powrotu. Both titles translate roughly to "A Road with no Return".
