Armor serves as protective covering to mitigate damage in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and comes in 3 main categories: light armor, medium armor, and heavy armor, and consists of four pieces: chest armor, gloves, trousers, and boots.
There are sets of Unique Witcher Armor that can be collected by stumbling across hidden Witcher Cache's or by completing Scavenger Hunts.

Armor Crafting

Armor can be crafted using materials gathered through exploring the world, dismantling other Armor, or purchasing components from Vendors.
Diagrams for the pieces of Armor are needed before Geralt can craft. These can be found by purchasing them from Vendors, or finding them throughout the world. Once a Diagram is acquired, Geralt must take these to a Blacksmith in order to build them.
