[edit] Walkthrough
You will encounter ghouls while doing the quest for Mikul. Since there aren't many ghoul in Act I, be sure to unlock the ghoul bestiary entry before venturing into the crypt. After you've finished Mikul's quest there's a new passage in the crypt where you encounter more ghouls and a named alghoul. Every night there's also a ghoul which feasts on some corpses at the abandoned houses north of the cave. Collect three vials of ghoul blood and return to Kalkstein who resides at the local inn.

- This quest can only be completed if the bestiary contains an entry about ghouls, as their remains will not contain their blood otherwise. You can get this entry either by using a bronze talent to get Monster Lore, or by reading The Tome of Fear and Loathing, volume I (which you can get from the drunkard at the inn)
- You can complete this quest later in Acts II or III even.
- Kalkstein gives Geralt a copy of the book, Basics of Alchemy, along with the gold and experience rewards when completing this quest.

Kalkstein the alchemist will pay for the blood of three ghouls. I must collect the blood of three ghouls for Kalkstein.
