A palisade was a (usually) wooden fence or wall of variable height, usually used as a defensive structure for towns, outposts and other permanent sites requiring defense.

They could provide primitive shooting galleries, but were not used as primary defense unless absolutely necessary as they were susceptible to fire and did not hold up for long under battering.

In the Outskirts, the inn is surrounded by a palisade. Inside, there are a number of interesting people to chat with. The Old Manor is also within a palisade.
