The Nilfgaardian Garrison is a location in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Once, it was a fortification used by the Temerian army to guard the river Ismena and the road running from White Orchard to Vizima, but it fell to the Nilfgaardians after their victory at the battle of White Orchard that occurred on the field east of Cackler Bridge. The garrison now serves as an outpost for commanding officer, Captain Peter Saar Gwynleve.

There are about 40 people occupying the garrison, including medics. Even though the reason of the castle's ruin is currently unknown, there can be two assumptions. Either it was caused by erosion and negligence, or it was destroyed by war. However, the latter seems unlikely since it is surrounded by swamp, unfavorable terrain for siege engineers to operate on.

Map description

Trivia

  • At the top of the steps, opposite the gate to the courtyard, there are pieces of a bridge, parts of which still stand. Jump over the first gap, and on the left is a chest with armor and coins. It is not possible to continue on the bridge, seeing as the gap is too far, even for a witcher.
