During the hunt, he was the leader of the group which was sent to Fano to investigate a letter sent by Bonhart to the local armourer, Esterhazy. It was revealed that, in actuality, Neratin was an infiltrator who worked for Vattier de Rideaux.
Following his exposure as an agent of Vattier, he was killed by Leo Bonhart in the village of Unicorn while helping Ciri escape from the hands of Stefan Skellen, Bonhart and Rience.
