I saw the map you created on the Ciri page and had a question. How did you create the Pin images so that the background color was transparent therebye only making the circle with the number visible? I've noticed that a 60x60 px image is the min size for the Pin image which I thought to be rather large, but if I could make the background transparent like you did the pins wouldn't cover up the map as much. Thanks in advance for your help.
Hello Sir! From my understanding you are the head honcho around here, and I am the only person that I know of that is willing to adopt the wikia. I am wishing to be held under your guidance and be taught the ways of editing in a more advanced level.
Also if I actually become adopter of the wikia would you be staying and assisting with the wikia?
Another matter, I would like to thank you for all that you have done for this wikia, I noticed no one said anything about congrating you to the wikia, so im welcoming you to the wikia and thanking you for your contributions.
Hey there Drewf0! Thanks for reaching out and thanks for your interest in helping out here. This site currently has no user admins and we are definitely searching for some active users to pick the torch up here! At the moment I think it's a bit too early to let you adopt the wiki, but if you familiarize yourself with the wiki and continue to contribute with content and edits once the game comes out, I'll certainly love to bring you onboard.
I will definitely continue to contribute here, we have a working relationship with CD Projekt RED and a big part of my job is simply contributing here. I'll be adding a bunch of content once the game comes out : >
Thanks so much for the kind words, if you have any questions or suggestions about how to make this wiki better, don't hesitate to get in touch with me. Nice meeting you!
I have a series of questions actually, I noticed that on the main page it needs to be edited because it says that the game is released in February, (which is obviously un-true.) Another thing I wish to do is begin to make a Witcher 3 page that involves everthing of the Witcher 3 game. Such as Monsters that are specifically in the game, characters, weapons, and armor. I noticed we have all of our monsters in a giant selection that is like 9 pages long. Things need to be chopped into smaller chunks and be more organized. I would like to be more involved into doing these things but the problem is, navigation slightly confuses me, because I dont understand how to make it work entirely besides the brackets. I barely know how to fix actual problems inside the wikia that arent: Pictures, spelling erorrs, or anything of the minor problems. I wish to understand the more advanced, problem solving things.
All sound like great ideas, man. I actually didn't catch the incorrect date on the mainpage so I've gotten that remedied.
A nice way to go about it if you're new to editing on Wikia is to find an existing page that has a layout that you'd like to borrow from and do a bit of content switching out. That's certainly where I started.
If you want a nice crash course in editing on Wikia, take a look at our Help Documentation. We've got a lot of guides and I can help you out if you have any specific questions about anything. Just let me know!
I'd also recommend setting up a sandbox, hit start a new wikia in the top right corner of the top site header and create your own, personal testing site. You can copy content over onto it, edit it to your hearts content, and not worry about the mistakes.
I would not mind if someone like CosmicSilver asked to adopt this Wikia, but giving Admin privileges to someone that has yet to make proofs is quite unreasonnable.
While you did provide the Bloodborne Wikia with a moderate amount of raw info, and contributed to its community on talk pages and such, an Admin position otherwise major decisive power is worth more than that.
The best you can do is to start making a name here, because like you somehow mentionned, this wikia has a long way to go to the top. A good old "Standardisation" (and of course, the page by page typo fixing, which is usually solved by having more regular editors) would definitely put it on the right tracks. Especially since The Witcher 3 is almost upon us.
In other words, the only thing you need to bring change to this wiki is already in your possession, litterally right in your hands as you read this.
I understand everything that you have said in this message, I have written things and done things in order to show that this wikia is in dire need of some "Tender love and care", and I wish to provide the wikia with such. I know CosmicSilver actually through the dark souls wikia, bloodborne wikia, and I also watch him stream "Apothenon" the video game on his PS4, but since you have typed this message I believe you do not know that CosmicSilver is taking a long/major break from the wikia to involve himself with personal matters quite sadly. If CosmicSilver wouldve asked to adopt this wikia I would have 0 hard feelings, he is a great person and above all and excellent wikia worker.
I am working extremely hard in order to be ready for the witcher 3. The thing in my hands currently I bought just for the usage of working on this wikia when the witcher 3 releases, I am increasing its RAM in 7-10 days (Witcher 3 is coming out in 6 days :D).
I hope you read this message and have some hope in my that my plans succeed and I contribute heavily into the wikia, but please sir can you make an account? I am trying to get every wikia contributer to make an account, and am currently debating on asking to have all edits unavailable unless you have a wikia account in order to avoid vandalism, spamming, and a multitude of others things, but my problem with this idea is that I am going to lose a lot of support from random people just passing through because this wikia is mainly people who have no account quite sadly.
Had an account but stopped editing. Currently inactive. I know my way around wikia and its editing, and i did not comment often at all, only fixed problems wherever i went.
Had 400+ edits on game articles, mostly regarding Standardisation, overall coherency, and of course fixing typos/grammar i came across.
Good thing Dan left Mats in charge. Perfect for the job.
And regarding the user only edits to prevent vandalism and such, it changes little, if anything, because regardless of wether or not you are logged in, you still are identified by your IP, as if you were a registered user. For example, this is my identification 184.108.40.206 , and you can track everything i did from this computer. As an Admin or anything higher, you can also block said computer from editing should the need arise. Thus there is nothing to worry about unregistered editors.
Only disadvantage is that in the recent edit feed, its hard telling who's who from the 8+ numbers.
That said i am only passing through The Witcher 2 , and won't stick around long once i completed the game and everything i want out of it. I move quite fast. I just happened to see your post about adopting the wikia, and read it out of curiosity.
Are you not interested at all of the Witcher 3? Witcher 2 was an outstanding game! I think Witcher 3 will be even better! Kind of sad to hear that you wont be staying because youre just playing the witcher 2. I hope you enjoy the game greatly and hope to see you again when you come to this wikia for all your witcher 3 needs!
