Man's Best Friend is an unmarked secondary quest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It does not appear in the quest log.

Walkthrough Edit

Upon arriving at a house northeast of the Inn at the Crossroads, Geralt sees a wild dog outside of the house trying to get in. After killing the wild dog, Geralt hears whispers coming from inside the house. He soon finds out that a group of kids are living there alone and hungry. If Geralt asks the girl who came to the door where their parents are she will explain that Nilfgaardians killed some of them, while the others were kicked out of their homes by their own parents on account of too many mouths to feed.

Geralt can choose to either give them some food or coin (25 Oren3). As a reward they will give Geralt a doll and a book, In Beast's Clothing, which once read provides the bestiary entries for werewolves, and ulfhedinn, as well as the manuscript page for the werewolf decoction.
