Template:Infoboxbestiary2 Geralt encounters Longlocks in the Land of a Thousand Fables during the Blood and Wine Expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Unlike in the fairy tale, he cannot rescue her as she used her long hair to hang herself. Instead of that a boss fight with her ghost will trigger once he has reached the top chamber of the tower. The specter will be assisted by armed corpses. Geralt can obtain one of the magical beans in this room, once he succeeds. On the way up the tower, he will also encounter the dead body of Prince Charming.

Bestiary entry

Well, since it seems this hair won't be pulling up any knights in shining armor, might as well put it to some use.
– the last words of Longlocks.
Everyone knows love stories can have tragic endings, but few would think this also apples to princesses from fairy tales created to relieve a set happy ending over and over again. Longlocks had the misfortune of becoming just such an unlikely tragic heroine. After the duke's daughters grew up and the Land of a Thousand Fables went feral, Longlocks, whose prince never came and who suffered greatly from her loneliness, decided to hang herself by her own braid. After she died, her ghost stayed to haunt the castle in which she had awaited her suitor.

Trivia

  • The skeletons are a possible homage to classic Harryhausen-movies like "Jason and the Argonauts".
  • She is a sarcastic reference to the young woman from the German fairy tale "Rapunzel", that was in turn influenced by earlier versions of the story from France and Italy.
