Template:Character infobox Sir Ignatius Verrieres was Lord of White Orchard and Baron of Amavet Fortress prior to Nilfgaard's conquest of White Orchard during the Third Nilfgaard-Nordling War.

Biography

As lord, Ignatius had the witcher Kolgrim of the School of the Viper detained and interrogated over the alleged kidnapping of a beekeeper's boy. The lord allowed Kolgrim a trial by ordeal, in accordance with Temerian common law at the time. The witcher was to cleanse the Verrieres family crypt of wraiths, during which task he perished, and it was later found out that he was in fact innocent.

After it became known that his son Florian was homosexual, Ignatius banished his lover (Mislav) from the family castle. Florian then committed suicide by hanging, and the lord turned to drinking over his son's death, leading the estate to fall into ruin.

Death

In early 1272, the Nilfgaardian Army conquered White Orchard in the Third Nilfgaard-Nordling War. Ignatius's family home became known locally as the Nilfgaardian Garrison, as the majority of Nilfgaard's forces in the region became stationed there under the leadership of Captain Peter Saar Gwynleve. The lord was executed by hanging by the new Nilfgaardian rulers.[1]
