History Edit

The origins and growth of Thyssens Edit

The founder of the family was Godamba Thaess'en, an impoverished nobleman from Kovir. He had fifteen sons, however, we only know the name of his firstborn Scarab Thyssen. Thyssenids were not so influential family, but they slowly build their influence and wealth until they reach the top. However Scarab Thyssen styling himself as baron, was a warrior and robber, leading wasteful lifestyle and latter he was killed in unclear circumstances (possible he was killed by his people during dividing of plunder).

Way to crown Edit

After the death of Scarab, his son Otto Thyssen become head of family. Otto really deserve the battle for Trojdens dynasty, fighting with Redanians and Kaedweni, in thanks for that king Gedovius Trojdenida, rewarded him with knighthood and from that time Thyssenids were real noblemans with titles of count. Otto was married with she-elf Deirdre aep Calhall, with whom he had a daughter and two sons.

After the death of Otto, the new head of the families was his older son Guido Thyssen. At that time Thyssens were already powerful, influential and rich house, but their importance began to grow even more. Guido was continuing lines of his father, and bravely defended the border Kovir, which enjoyed the favors of the young King Gerard Trojdenida. Surprisingly at very young age he was appointed as margrave of East March, such promotion meant that the position Guido was very strong and the king himself very trusted him, since this position was almost equal to the king. Margrave Guido without any problems received the hand of Klaudia Starhemberg, which gain from him even more prestige.

From the marriage with Klaudia he had three children, two daughters Ramona, Berengaria and his son Edmund.

At that time, the Thyssen family position was strong enough that they become interesting for their neighbors. Ramona married the King of Redania, Vizimir I The Old, and Berengaria married Cedric, King of Temeria. The true prestige and exaltation came with marriage between Margrave Edmund and Alicja Trojdenidka, younger daughter of King Gedovius Trojdenida, but in that no one imagined what consequences there will come out of this marriage.

At the time, except Alice, King Gedovius had an even older daughter Anna and three sons, but all tragically died. This made the son of Alice and Edmund, Esteril Thyssen (other than hime they have another daughter Xymena Thyssen) successor to the crown, and after the death of King Gedovius, he sat down on the throne of Kovir and Poviss.
