Gwent: Skellige Style is a secondary quest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
- I am currently taking on pupils for lessons in the playing of gwent. I shall only teach those who display discipline, a logical mindset and the will to learn. Those with special aptitude are particularly welcome. Pupils must acquire and supply their own decks.
- I am also seeking more experienced players as partners to provide a challenge and a chance for the mutual improvement of our skills.
- –Ermion , druid
The rewarded in this quest is unaffected by level constraint and difficulty level.
Walkthrough[]
Note: While the quest can be picked up any time from the notice board at Kaer Trolde Harbor, it cannot truly be started until Echoes of the Past is completed. Additionally, Practicum in Advanced Alchemy also has to be completed to unlock two of the matches.
Ermion is always the first player to face, but the earliest point to do that is while he walks away right after Echoes of the Past. You can later find him at Gedyneith. Once beaten, he will award you the Leshen card and direct you to Gremist and Crach an Craite.
Gremist, just north of Gedyneith, cannot be played until Practicum in Advanced Alchemy is completed. When beaten, he gives you the Mysterious Elf card and directs you to Madman Lugos.
Madman Lugos is found at Kaer Muire. However, unless Svanrige becomes king, he cannot be played after you set sail for Skellige at the start of Battle Preparations. If you miss that last opportunity, an objective to loot his Vampire: Katakan card will appear. In this case, you will get a red mark for winning the match, but is still awarded when the card is looted.
Note: At least as of Patch 4.0, Ermion and Lugos are still available in their usual places before asking Crach where the druid is for The Sunstone - even though Geralt supposedly doesn't know where Ermion is, he's not yet gone to Kaer Muire and is just chilling at Gedyneith, allowing to go through everything needed to unlock the match with Madman Lugos.
Crach is usually found in his room at the Kaer Trolde citadel. When beaten, he gives you the Draug card and directs you to Sjusta. However, Crach can't be played after you start the battle during On Thin Ice. Should this happen, the objective to play him will be removed, you'll simply receive his card (no though) and be directed to Sjusta.
Sjusta is always at his place at Kaer Trolde Harbor and beating him awards the Yaevinn card.
Winning each match awards 25 and when you're done with all of the above, you'll also be awarded the Emhyr var Emreis: The White Flame leader card as the quest completes.

Journal entry[]
- Gwint [sic] is played wherever long evenings, warm fires and strong alcohol are present – meaning it is quite popular in the Skellige Isles. Skellige players rank among the best there is, so Geralt decided to try his hand against them and see if he could win their most powerful cards.
- The Skelligers had even better decks than Geralt had expected – yet still he defeated them and added their prize cards to his collection.
