Gwendeith location on a map
Gwendeith (meaning White Flame in Elder Speech) is a fortress in the Blue Mountains inhabited by the Free Elves. It is where elves who did not want to take part in the senseless killing retreated. They called themselves the "Elves of the Blue Mountains". The fortress itself was located at the top of the mountain, overlooking three valleys rising from successive terraces in the Blue Mountains.
The suns rays reflecting off the white peaks give the impression that the whole mountain on which the fortress was built is aflame. Free Elves reside in the valley below.

- The keep appeared at first in the Arkadia, a Multi-User Dungeon game set in worlds of The Witcher and Warhammer. It was canonized by CD PROJEKT RED on their world map. More information on the keep, presented in this article, were obtained by user Lambert1234 when he asked Paweł "Eriash" Majak from CD PROJEKT RED whether dit it ever appear in books.
