Force Recon is a quest which concerns a questionable encounter in the Golem Burial Grounds between the Scoia'tael and the Order of the Flaming Rose in Act II. Each side wants the other exterminated and Geralt must decide if he wants to get involved, and if he does, with whom he should side.

[edit] Walkthrough
This quest can happen in one of three ways (well, two, really, if you want to complete it). Either you talk to Siegfried near the Druids' Grove to side with the Order of the Flaming Rose, or with Yaevinn in the scoia'tael camp near the Mage's Tower. You have to choose one side to complete the quest. Alternately, you can agree to work with neither side, and forgo a bit of experience, but remain neutral.
If you decide to take the quest (and get the experience points), then go speak to whichever representative you've decided to go with and get the quest. Whichever one you choose will assign you a little "posse" of their own ranks to help you out (but they really aren't much, if any, help at all and just wind up dead). Yaevinn assigns you three elves and two dwarves. Siegfried assigns you four Order scouts.
Proceed to the Golem cemetery and get ready for a fight. Kill everyone unfriendly NPC in sight, pick up whatever loot you can (or want) and then speak to any of your posse who have survived. They'll tell you to go back and speak to whomever sent you. If they all perished, just do that anyway without being told. Siegfried or Yaevinn will be grateful for your help and will reward you accordingly.

- Order path: If you choose to side with The Order without first delivering Vivaldi's response to Yaevinn (for the quest Worth it's Weight in Gold), that quest will fail
- Scoia'tael path: Whether or not you have the response from Vivaldi, you can get the quest from Yaevinn
