Fifth Essence is an alchemy ingredient that is needed to craft the following items:
- Enhanced vampire oil
- Superior vampire oil
- Mastercrafted Griffin armor
- Mastercrafted legendary Griffin armor
- Griffin silver sword
- Legendary Griffin silver sword
- Mastercrafted Wolven armor
- Mastercrafted legendary Wolven armor
- Wolven silver sword
- Legendary Wolven silver sword
- Mastercrafted forgotten Wolven armor
- Mastercrafted legendary forgotten Wolven armor
It can be found as regular random loot, randomly dropped by Earth Elementals, fiends, foglets, and Moreau's Golem, or purchased from the following merchants:
- All alchemists
- All herbalists outside of Toussaint, except Yolar
- All base game armorers, except Fergus Graem and those in Mulbrydale, Oxenfurt, Larvik
- All base game blacksmiths, except the one in Lindenvale and the rescued one in Fayrlund
