Anselm was a Fallen Knight who died around 1272 as a result of a failed fisstech deal north of Novigrad.

Biography[]

Anselm was ordered by Ulrich to travel to Novigrad, where he was meant to sell a batch of fisstech to Whoreson Junior's men and procure supplies for the Fallen Knights' main base. Anselm left the men under his command on their boat before making his way to the site of the expected fisstech deal further north.

However, when Junior's men arrived they brought a "present" – a sack containing the heads of Anselm's men that'd been on the boat – before demanding to know where the fisstech was. While Anselm informed them of the chest on the boat, the Fallen Knight didn't reveal he'd hidden the chest's key up his rectum beforehand. Despite the thugs thoroughly searching and interrogating Anselm, they didn't find the key and Anselm claimed it'd been on one of the men they'd killed.

With that, Junior's men wished to kill the Fallen Knight at once, but their leader convinced them to confine Anselm to the beach hut's cellar and leave him to die of hunger and thirst.

Two days later, Anselm heard his captors massacred by drowners but, unable to escape from the still locked cellar, Anselm began to wither way. After six days in captivity and with no hope of surviving, he wrote a letter using his own blood as ink to detail all that'd transpired before dying.
