Caparison of Lament is a unique horse saddle in the Hearts of Stone expansion.
You are given this saddle if you allow Master Mirror to take Olgierd's soul during the main quest Whatsoever a Man Soweth..., and you choose "To be as swift as the wind". Equipping it transforms Roach into a demonic-looking black horse with glowing eyes. According to the description, it also applies a short-range effect, possibly similar to the stagger caused by the axii ability Delusion.[1]
The effect applies every few seconds to an enemy that gets close to Roach; mounted enemies will get instantly knocked off their horses. Sometimes the effect will cause enemies to panic instead of getting stunned, in which case they react as if they were burned.
