The Witcher[]
These are harvested from dead basilisks. The skin of these lizards is all the rage in the more fashion conscious circles of Kovir. The experience points for the basilisk kill is worth it alone. This is sadly not the case in The Price of Neutrality premium module. Although they are skinnable items, these hides have no alchemical value whatsoever.

- Julian will pay for three basilisks hides as per The Basilisk Contract.
- The Murky Waters healer will buy them, as will Abigail, The Hermit and Kalkstein.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt[]
Basilisk hide is an alchemy ingredient. It is not needed to craft anything but can be dismantled into a monster carapace (the base game one) and chitinous shell.
It is a guaranteed drop from all basilisks.
