A rock dragon, while not belonging to the "true" dragons,[1] is still a formidable opponent, able to fight "conventionally" and use some spells. They can be found in dry, rocky areas and stony plains and their largest specimens reach about five meters in length.[2]
Once upon a time, Geralt of Rivia noticed a wall full of hunting trophies mounted in the dining room of Nivellen's manor. The most impressive among them was the mounted head of a rock dragon which was apparently killed by Nivellen's grandfather; according to the witcher, it might have been the last of its kind.[3]
