The Ghoul Contract
I need the blood of at least three ghouls. Will pay handsomely. Kalkstein, alchemist
Walkthrough[]
You will encounter ghouls while doing the quest for Mikul. Since there are not many ghouls in Chapter I, be sure to unlock the Ghoul bestiary entry before venturing into the crypt. After you have finished Mikul's quest there is a new passage in the crypt where you encounter more ghouls and a named alghoul. Every night there is also a ghoul which feasts on some corpses at the abandoned houses north of the cave. Collect three vials of ghoul blood and return to Kalkstein who resides at the local inn.

- This quest can only be completed if the bestiary contains an entry about ghouls, as their remains will not contain their blood otherwise. You can get this entry either by using a bronze talent to get Monster Lore, or by reading The Tome of Fear and Loathing, volume I (which you can get from the drunkard at the inn). You can also get it by speaking to the old lady on the houses before the church area, you will bribe her and ask her to tell a story, that gives you the bestiary.
- You can complete this quest later in Chapters II or III even.
- Kalkstein gives Geralt a copy of the book, Basics of Alchemy, along with the gold and experience rewards when completing this quest.
