As in many large cities of the north, in Vizima one can enlist the services of a private investigator, an expert in sensitive issues, discrete investigations and tracking suspects. Detective Raymond Maarloeve is available at his office, on the corner of Harbor Street and Roper Street, day or night. He also offers accommodation, in a pinch.

In Act III, after poor Raymond's demise, this becomes the office of Zahin Schmartz, the dentist.
