On his way through the Swamp forest, Geralt comes upon a small hamlet, the Brickmakers' village. Curious, he begins speaking with the local inhabitants to try to learn more about the place. There seem to be quite a few of them milling about. Most of them do not have much to say, but an old woman, Vaska, the eldress of the village is more chatty.
She tells the witcher that the livelihood of the village is threatened by drowners who have infested the area around the clay pits, the brickmakers' primary worksite. As long as the necrophages lurk by the ovens, the villagers can not work. She then asks the witcher what he does and upon learning that he deals with monsters for a living, she asks him to deal with these monsters and offers 50 as a reward. Geralt is feeling generous that day, so he agrees.
Our hero then sets off for the clay pits in search of the pesky critters, after all, a little albedo-laced aether never goes amiss. He finds them, and quite a few of them, hiding between the sheds and pits. It really does not take much time or effort to clear the area — not for an experienced witcher. Then it is back to the village.
Vaska is pleased and grateful for the help, but confesses that she lied earlier when she offered the reward. She does not have 50 , but she does not want Geralt to leave empty-handed either so she gives him an amulet, the Kezath sephirah instead.
Vaska claims that the brickmakers have problems with the drowners. She's offering 50 orens for solving this problem. It is not much but every penny is useful. I must go to the clay pits and kill all drowners I find there. I must go to the clay pits and kill all drowners I find there.
More Drowners Edit
I cleansed the first pit. I'm halfway through the job, so to speak. I must kill all drowners before I return to Vaska. I must kill all drowners before I return to Vaska.
I cleansed the remaining pits — I think that's all. I must return to Vaska and tell her the clay pits are safe now. I must return to Vaska and tell her the clay pits are safe now. (500 XP)
