This key must be obtained by persuading Vergen's alderman, Cecil Burdon to relinquish it and allows Geralt access to the harpy queen's lair.

In order to persuade the dwarf, Geralt reveals that he has seen the man's dream in a crystal he found in a harpy nest. Threatening to reveal this information is sufficient to convince the dwarf to give the witcher his key.
