Black pearl is a crafting component in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It is not needed to craft anything but can be dismantled into black pearl dust.

It can be obtained by dismantling sea shells, found as random loot, or purchased from the following merchants:

Notes[]

  • Harvesting black pearls is one way a player can exploit the game for crowns. As sea shells are very cheap, a player can buy them, have them dismantled, then sell the pearl for a profit. In the Hearts of Stone expansion, the tax collector mentions this as one way of exploiting taxes.
  • Even if you have some in your inventory, the Black Pearl quest will still make you meet Nidas in Skellige, dive in and retrieve one, then return to him in Novigrad to get payment.
